Dear 1st year students,It’s your teacher writing as you may guess. I won’t tell you how old I am, but believe me I am old enough to know things you don’t know and I am too old to understand young people sometimes.
I live in Moscow, more exactly in a small town just outside. Every day I go to university by underground train and I am used to crowds of people around me. It takes me 40 minutes to get to work. On my way to work I usually read a book. I seldom listen to music, because it is so noisy everywhere nowadays that I prefer to stay in silence (hmm, can we call underground silent?)
I like reading detectives and fantasy books and hate love stories. In the evening I usually watch an episode from some TV serial. (It’s ‘House M.D.’ now and I am waiting for the continuation of ‘Lie to me’.) Once or twice a month I go out with a friend to have a talk in some nice café or we go to the theatre. I never go to the cinema because I don’t like going to cinemas. At weekends I prefer staying at home with my family.
I speak English (yeah, believe me!) and French and languages are my hobby.
I am waiting for your letters, it’s your home-assignment, please, don’t forget.
Best wishes, E.Yu.

Dear E.Yu.,
thank you for your letter. It's your student writing.
I come from another city, but now I am living in Moscow. I hope I will live here too when I will graduate from the university. Now it takes me about 1 hour 20 minutes to go to university, because I live on the outskirts. I go to university by train too. I never read in the underground, because there are a lot of people. I always listen to music or I watch a film on my pocket computer.
I like reading classical books. Especially french hystorical novels. I often go to the cinema with my friends, it is very interesting, you must try it some day. In the evening I usually have lessons, that's why I do my homework at weekends. I don't have a lot of free time.
I hope to hear from you soon.
Best wishes,
SOS-Age
Dear E.Yu.,
I want to answer your letter at once, because I am having a time just now. Tomorrow I must go to the university again. I study German there and I want to learn English there too. I live in Moscow. I’m married and I have got my little family. Our daughter is a school-girl. My husband is an engineer. Every day I get up at six a.m. and I leave my home at seven past ten. We have got our babysitter, which takes our daughter to school in the mornings. She meets her from school in the evening and then they go home together. I am very busy every day. I work at the electrical firma. My working-day begins at 8 a.m. and it finishes at 5 p.m. After my work I usually go to the university. On my way to the university I read my university textbooks. My lessons usually last till 22.35 p.m. After the lessons I go home be underground. It usually takes me 45 minutes.
We don’t often meet our friends. Sometimes we speak with them over the phone. We don’t like to go to the cinema and we usually stay at home on the week-end.
Best wishes,
S.I.
Dear E.YU.
I’m very glad to read your message.
It’s your student and I want you too tell something about my life. I live in Moscow the same as you do.
Every day I go to my work at 7 o’clock. After my work at 6 o’clock in the evening I go to university. Usually I go by car but last time by underground train, because it takes me not a much time. It takes me about 30 minutes from my work to university to get. I don’t want to tell you about my boring work, I think it’s not very interesting for you. And I don’t have many hobbies because I don’t have much time for hobbies and friends, but sometimes at weekends I go out with my friends for example to a bar or restaurant and other places, where we have a talk about news ours lives. I like sport and traveling. In summer I usually play football and basketball and go to swimming pool. Last time I don’t read many books, but sometimes I have enough time something interesting to read. And then I read historical or adventure books or different interesting articles about news and future of the world. I like to listen to German music and bands for example KLEE, MIA and others.
I like to go to cinemas and theaters; especially I like watching thrillers and films about a war. I go to cinema once or twice a month not more. At home I don’t watch TV, because it’s not much interesting for me. I like traveling and I hope in my future work I will many travel around the world and visit a lot of another countries. Now I speak two foreign languages English and German and in a few years I want to learn French and Spanish.
I’m waiting for your reply.
Best wishes,
Mr. Reskator
Dear E. Yu.
Many thanks for your letter. I was awfully glad to get it.
I live in Moscow. I’m a part-time student. Every evening I get to university by tram or by bus and then by underground train. It usually takes me an hour, but sometimes it can take me more, because of heavy traffic on my street. On my way to university I usually listen to music or read magazines. I seldom read books in the metro, because it’s very noisy there and I can’t concentrate. So I prefer reading at home. I like reading different kinds of books. Actually it depends on my mood. I read adventure novels and science fiction books, or sometimes biographies of famous people. I don’t watch TV at all, because I have no time for it. In my spare time I go in for ballet, cycle in the park near my house, do shopping and go out with my friends. We meet once or twice a week and go to the cinema or sometimes we sit in a café and talk. When the weather is fine we go to the country. I don’t like doing my homework at the weekend, and that’s why I do it on weekdays. At the weekend I spend time with my family. Sometimes I go to the theatre with my mum.
Best wishes, Dolly-sheep
Dear E.YU.
I’m so sorry that I’m writing you so late! It caused of my awful memory. I’m ashamed. = (
I live in Moscow and study and work at the MSLU. I study German and English. My way to the university takes me about 10 minutes by tram, 20 minutes by underground. I work three times and learn five times a week. In my free time I like to play the violin, to sing in the bathroom, to listen to classical music, to read books and to go out with my friends. On Sunday I visited a concert in the Big hall of conservatory. There symphony orchestra played suit of Jean Sibelius “Lemminkjajnen”. I listened to Sibelius for the first time and his music fascinated me! It makes me cry that I can’t to listen to this music in metro, because it is very noisy there (I share your opinion)))).
I have a dog called Susie. She is a mini-schnauzer and she is very lovely! =^-^= I have also a sister. Her name is Vika. She is a second former. Though she is very naughty I love her very much.
I want to be a teacher of German phonetic. I think that is very interesting.
P.S. Forgive me my English!
with best regards,
Kriemhild
Dear E.Yu. ,
I present my apologies that I write so late. Thank you for this interesting assignment.
I live in Moscow and I go to university by minibus and underground train. My way takes me about an hour. I’m so tired of my daily route and crowds. I prefer to listen to music because I like her. She raises the spirits and relaxes me. I can listen to various kinds of music. But frequently it’s boring and I take some good book.As you I can't stand love stories. Also I hate detective stories of Russian writers, they are so vapid.I love our classical literature, philosophy or adventure novels.
In the evening I chat with my friends, phone them, talk with my mum and watch some films or serials on my computer, for example LOST (I’m dreaming when he will ended after all). I watched a few series of «Lie to me» with my friends. He is interesting enough.
I like sports. At school I took part in volleyball, football or run contests, was involved in gymnastics .I like skate, cycle, skateboarding. In this winter I got up on snowboard. It’s cheerfully.
At weekends I try to meet with my friends or go out with my mum.
But the big joy of my life is our university and possibility to learn foreign languages. I learn French and English.
I hope for such an assignment.
Best wishes, monkey and glasses
Dear E.YU.,
Thank you for your letter. I hope, I will be forgiven for my late answer, but I really didn't have free time and opportunity too.
Now I tell you about my hard-working weeks. I have only one weekend (it's Sunday, of course). I'm a second-year student of Moscow State Linguistic University. I'm student of german department. But I study also English and Spain hier, and, of course, I'm your student). I work in the University. It's very interesting for me to comunicate with intelligent and well-educated people. I like my work and my studies. I am happy with everything, really!
I go to university by underground train and it takes me about 50 minutes to get to university. I always listen to music in the underground. I like good songs and sometimes I sing with my friend (Some people consider it strange). But If I find very interesting book for me, I read her in the underground and nothing shall prevent me to concentrate my attention on reading this book, even trains, which make a noise.
My Sunday I always spend different. I like to meet my friends or spend time with my family. Sometimes I ride a horse. I like this animal and the riding always relaxes me. I like to go to the cinema. Sometimes it's more exciting than watching TV at home. I like special effects. But, of course, I go to the cinema to see that film, which engages me.
It's spring now. I will ride by a bicycle with my friends soon, if I have free time.
I want to tell you about my cat. His name is Martin and he is very funny with extruded tongue. I love him and my friends too.
I like to travel, to visit historical places and museums, exhibitions and theatres. I am all-round people.
I hope, my letter is not very boring for you.
Thank you for the very interesting task.
Best wishes and have a nice day!
Merry
Dear E.Yu.

Hmm,I have hobbies,it's dancing, singing and having a good time(one of my favourite).I have a lot of friends, well, I can say that I'm very friendly and funny person.I like travelling.I've been in England and in the USA.I liked it very much))I think it's all what i can tell you about me for the first time.
Have a good week and take care.
Funny Girl
Dear Merry,
Thank you for a very interesting letter. I must say that you are not only an all-round person, but a very brave one too. I mean your riding a bike and riding a horse! I like horses too, but I am very much afraid of them, as they are SO big!
By the way, I may also sing on the underground train if in a good mood.-:)
See you, E.Yu.
Dear Funny Girl,
Thank you for your letter. I must say that I agree with you - I also think that our university is the best one ever! I agree as well that little kids are very cute, but as for me, I would never be able to teach them, I guess it is very difficult!
Stay in touch, E.Yu.
Dear SOS-Age,
Thank you for your letter. I wouldn't recommend you to watch films from a small screen of your Pocket computer on a train, as it may spoil your eyes. French classical novels were my favourite when I was your age.-:)
Best, E.Yu.
Dear Kriemhild,
Thank you for your letter. Just like you I think that singing in the bathroom is one of the best things that we can do.-:) And of course, I understand the fascination of the classical music for you. I suppose a person cannot be tired of this kind of music. It will never annoy or irritate.
See you, E.Yu.
Dear Mr.Wolf,
Thank you for your letter. Unlike you I don't have many friends, however When I meet a friend we also discuss books, music, programs and some rumours.-:)
Best regards, E.Yu.
Dear Mr. Reskator,
Thank you for your very interesting letter. You must be a very serious and hard-working person, because you get up so early and come home so late. Surely you don't have a lot of free time!
As for me I also like books about adventure and I can read a good book in the genre of science fiction. And I like films about war too, but I always start crying as these films usually break my heart.
Best wishes, E.Yu.
Dear Markhus,
Thank you for your letter. I suppose you are the busiest person in the group, as you have to care about your family as well as about your work and your studies. I wish you patience and good luck.
Regards, E.Yu.
Dear Dolly-sheep,
Thank you for your letter. You are so right when you say that it depends on your mood what kind of a book to read. The same happens to me, sometimes I want to read something serious, and sometimes it MUST be a simple detective!
I also like going to the theatre very much, but unfortunately I don't go there very often, as first of all I don't have a lot of free time, and secondly, the tickets are expensive!-:(
Best, E.Yu.
Dear monkey and glasses,
Thank you for your very interesting letter. I understand why you feel tired of the crouds. Unfortunately it is a drawback of living in a megapolis. As for me I just try to forget about people around me (sometimes I even manage to do that!)
I agree, LOST is an obsession! Nobody shares my opinion that Ben is the most intriguing character there!
I am glad you are the fan of our university! It's my favourite too!
Best wishes,
E.Yu.
