My favourite place in Moscow

Dear friends,

I feel some kind of nostalgia when I think about my favourite place in Moscow. The matter is that it does not exist anymore. When I was a child we lived near the metro station of “Sokol” and my Mom and I often went for a walk in the park named after Marina Raskova and then along the boulevard at Leningradskiy prospekt. Now there is a huge ski-scraper built in the park, and there is no boulevard – only a highway. However, I like walking along the Boul’varnoe kol’tso with my friend. It’s nice to slowly walk and share ideas. Unfortunately we haven’t met for a long time and I miss these walks much.

One more place that I love is a bookshop at Tverskaya street. It is open till very late (1:00 a.m.) and I often come there late at night when it is not crowded to roam between the bookshelves, turning over the pages and choosing a book to buy and to read.

Finally, I must mention my love to some abandoned cemeteries of Moscow - in Donskoy Monastery and in Kolomenskiy park. I feel so calm, so quiet there. And very philosophical, of course. I go between the tombs, read the names on the plates and feel sorrow. I am SO crazy…

Hallo E.YU.
I have actually many places in Moscow that I like visit with my friends regularly. Usually I like parks with rivers or lakes, where is able to relax somewhere in the shadow of the trees in the hot summer days. The one of the best places is “Neskuchniy Sad”. There are always a lot of people there especially in the summer sunny days. From the main gates left there is a tennis court and a playground for ping pong tables to the right. Sometimes I play ping pong with my friends there at the weekend. Next to the tennis court there is a chess club, where usually the people of middle age get together to play chess or draughts. There is a quay of the Moscow River in the end of the “Neskuchniy Sad”. Many young people get together there in the evening to enjoy themselves. Some people roller-skate or ride a bicycle along the quay, others dance together on fresh air, and still others just walk along the quay or drink beer sitting on the benches. There is also the Green theater there, it’s some kind of an open air theater, where sometimes the concerts take place in the evening, but I never went there, because I don’t like to go to the concerts.
I hope that I’ve written all correct with the point of view to the grammatics and the orthography.
yours faithfully, Mr. Reskator

Dear E.Yu.
In my letter I would to write about my favorite place in Moscow.Moscow is very beautiful and large city. There are many cultural and historical places.I like the heart of Moscow most of all.Of course it is Red Square. The Moskow Kremlin and Saint Basil's Cathedral are the most visited place in Moscow.Saint Basil's Cathedral is a Russian orthodox cathedral. It was the tallest building in Moscow until the completion of the Ivan the Great Bell Tower in 1600.It was built in the memory of the victory over Kazan. There is a legend, that Ivan the Terrible blinded the architects Barma and Postnik, because he didn't want to create another masterpiece.
There are a lot beatiful places in Moscow, for example the Moscow Zoo.I like it very much!I visit this place allmost every year. The Moscow Zoo has over 6000 anikmals.Dolphinarium is the most interesting place in the zoo.Dolphins are very intelligent. They are very good and very like children.
There are many places in Moscow those wich I like. Our city is a cultural center and all places in this city is my favorite.I'm proud of my country and the city where I live. And what is your favorite place?
Have a nice day!

My favourite place in Moscow is the forest not far away from my house.
All my family likes this place. The childhood of my mum and me passed there. We could stay out of doors whole days.
In summer it is possible to sunbathe, swim but now I abstain from this distraction there.
It is amazing to go skiing in winter, to enjoy fresh air.
In this forest there are a lot of distractions for children, for example children's playgrounds, farm for horses and ponies, elks.
There are many troughs for birds which made of wood and you can feed their.
Earlier I went for a walk every weekends but now it is practically impossible.

Dear E.Yu.
There are a lot of interesting and unusual places in Moscow. And everybody has his own favourite places. Some of them are connected with memories of childhood, others with the people and events. And I would like to write about the place which I discovered for myself not long ago. One grey evening in November I returned home from my friend’s birthday. It was cloudy and windy. I wanted already to go to the underground but one of my friends said, she wants to show me something strange. It was the monument “The children – victims of adult vices”.
At the beginning it seemed to me scary. There are twelve figures of vices like alcoholism, drug addiction, sadism, war, indifference and others. And in front of them there are two blindfold children, a boy and a girl. I was afraid because some of vices have ugly muzzles of animals and fish instead of faces. There was nobody else besides us and in the twilight and in silence this place looked scary but magnetic. We looked at this monument for a long time.
I think this monument is really strange but I like it. It conveys the idea that children are unprotected in the world of adult vices and sets us thinking. And I like how the figures of vices are made. There are many interesting details which you cannot notice at the beginning. It’s one of the most mysterious and unusual places for me in Moscow.
And what is your favourite place in our city?
Best wishes, Dolly-sheep

Hallo, E.YU.
You asked us about our favorite places in Moscow, but I have one problem with answering this question)) I dislike Moscow. I can`t say, that there is no interesting place in Moscow at all, but I have no place which I want to visit every day. Probably I didn`t be in such place. But still I have a place which I like visiting. There is a rosary in park Sokolniki. It isn`t big but it is very beautiful. There are many flowers, trees and bushes there. All flowerbeds are well-groomed and are always in blossom. There is beautiful fountain under the old oak in the centre of rosary. It is very pleasure when it sprinkles with water in a boiling summer day. And what a wonderful fragrance can you feel there! The bushes of barberries smell so sweet, like a candy from my childhood… The deep aroma of peony turns head...
Mothers with children follow paths along rosebushes. It looks pacific and harmonically. Roses are so bright and delicate! Peace reigns everywhere. It is like a little paradise in the dirty suffocating city. I like walking there with my friend and making photos of flowerbeds in this rosary.
I advise everyone to visit that place.

There is a park "Musion" in Moscow. This park is known for its sculpture. A lot of them are the students` exhaust works of the artistic universities. They are very interesting and unusual. Also their names compel to reflect.

And there are many benches in the park, but I have my favourite bench among them. It is that which is able to rock. It is hung on chains. I like reading on it in summer and in spring. When I reading I often fall asleep to a bird`s singing.
Im so fond of a little caffee over there! There are most delicious pancakes i've ever tasted! There is also a very beautiful stream near the seats so i always enjoy the sound of its running under the floor.
The park is beautiful in every season. For example in summer we can take pleasure numerous fountains and aroma flowers. In winter, especially at night, sculptures look out magic when they are being shined of the blue searchlights against a white snow background. It is very nice to have a walk in it. I advise you to visit "Musion".
