That apocalyptic book I told you about finally got me down.
It is entitled “Metro 2033” and the sequel is “Metro 2034”. The first one drew all my attention, and in spite of an unhappy end I still liked it. The second one turned out completely hopeless. I had such an aftershock after I had finished reading it, that I still cannot get over it. (For nearly a week, by the way.) I absolutely lost my heart and neither want to read books anymore nor to watch films, let alone working. The only book I am able to read now is grammar exercises in French, after all it doesn’t depress me. Maybe your books are better than mine. What is the book you are reading now about and would you recommend it to a very emotional person?

There's no plot in this books and there are good books for a rest))))

hi,dear friends! I adore reading, but I steel do not know how to choose interesting books! Now I am reading the book my grandpa have recommended me. It's "black and red" by Stendal. To be honest, it is rather dull, I read it when I have nothing to do at all. But 2 days ago I finished up "3 comrades" by Remark...it impressed me SO MUCH, that I burst into tears in the train! It is a great book!
I am reading now Marces's "One Hundred Years of Solitude". I do love it so much! So the book is not very cheerful, the picture that the author is drawing is very vivid. And the style is great. However, I wouldn't recomment it to a sensitive person, as is it full of sadness.
Oh, such a great topic!
As for me I like reading, really like and every time try to enjoy the book and benefit from it.
Now I'm reading "The white glove" by Thomas Mayne Reid. It is rather interesting but not exciting. What book I like is the "Gadfly" by Ethel Voynich.
This book really made me cry and created a great impression upon me. It is about the revolution in Italy and about one revolutionist (his nickmame is the gadfly): about his life overwhelmed with suffering and pain, his heroism, his tragic death... If you are a sentimental person, I strongly recommend you to read it.
Yes...the influence of literature on people's mind is great))
I can`t say that I`m very fond of reading...but sometimes it just feel like takening away by some thrilling plot, distant journey or very schmaltzy, romantic love story with happy end...
Actually I prefer life novels and books.
2 days ago I bought a book on English сalled "Stoic" by Theodore Dreiser. This is a ponderous roman about the man who has 3 passions in life - money, women and art.
The book says that every man can reach everything in his life, if he has an aim.
My parents read this book, so I desided to make it some kind of a tradition))) Have you ever heared about it?
I read 3 first chapters and can say that the vocabulary is really very hard, I don`t know lot`s of words, however the general sense I understand)))
And i now waiting a moment when i'll return home and with my mom we will find something very interesting to read. My mom is a ruller of a book shop and because of that there is nothing what can limit my desires!
But i think that in many cases classic is usefull, just for fun. Because some ideas now are absolutely not uptodate. It is even better to read publicists of those time to draw general picture of life.

Hello) Now I am rereading “My posthumous adventures” by Yulia Voznesenskaya. It is a parable about the afterlife. What is waiting us after death? “My posthumous adventures " – is an assembly of particles of spiritual wisdom and experience of many people. I like books for thinking. Dear E.YU, I remember that you recommended us to read it!!I bought the book and I like it so much)My mother read it too and she didn’t disappoint)Emotional person may read it without any doubts!
Unfortunately i do not have time to read now and can say that i am a fan of reading but i know very well that a lot of classic literature is really good. Those books that we hate to read in school can influence us in differnt way now. For example i want to read "Crime and Punishment"
Books,I don't know any things that can deep your imagination into your soul so much,it makes us think, compare and choose;sometimes it change our way of thinking, helps us to overcome some difficulties,I think book is the greatest creation of mankind.
Now I read "3 comrades" by Remark,I haven't finished it yet, but I'm really interested in the end,it's very impulsive, exciting and vivid work.
Several days ago I decided to improve my foreign language and to read something in English… and Kate from our French lessons gave me a book of Cecelia Ahern, called “Where rainbows end”...
In fact, I haven’t still read it to the end, but I like it so much!!! It is about two best friends – a girl and a boy, who accidentally fell in love with each other, but unfortunately they decided to hide their feelings…
The book is fool of touching moments, which made me smile or have tears in my eyes…
It fascinated me from the first page because it is veeery interesting… or just because I understand it without using a dictionary=)
Anyway, I advise you to read it=)
In the process of describing this wonderful book feelings overwhelmed my heart, and as a result I wrote “fool of” instead of “full of”…
I hope, there is no connection between this mistake and Sigmund Freid...
hi everybody!! I like reading very much...but for the last time i usually watch films....and what abut books^my last 2 books were writen by Sergey Minaev...i like this writer a lot, because he wrote about nowdays!!!! about clubs, about style of life, about teens in Moscow....and for me it is really interesting)))
by the way now i want to reread The Master and Mararita!!!)) see you
After my depression caused by 'Metro 2034' I made a worse mistake - I read a book about the war in Afganistan. I nearly cried my eyes out. So, now, being fed up with the depressing books I am reading the classical detective stories by the Vainers (brothers) and I enjoy it.-:))
Yes, the books about war are sad and depressive (as a rule) and always make me cry. I've just remembered that our school teacher of OBZH (he is a military man) read us different sad stories about Chechnya and Afganistan and all of my classmates (and me of course) burst into tears. That was awful=(
It may be rather strange, but I adore books about war – and my most favorite authors are Remark and Hemingway, who devoted their works to the lost generation … After having read description of battlefields or killed people, I begin to appreciate my life more… and such books always make me feel gratitude for the more or less peaceful situation in our country…
So,opinions differ...
As for me,I like reading. The other problem that I have no enough time for it.
But I like 3 kindes of books.First-Russian classic(Crime and Punishment,The hero of our time,The dog`s heart).Second-psychological literature.I helps in everyday life. And in difficult situations. And finally I like to read tourist guidebooks, special books about countries and interesting places in the world.
Dear Friends, it's wonderful topic to discuss, isn't it? I'm keen on reading) The last book I've read was "The Sicilian" by Mario Puzo. I read it in few days, I just couldn't stop reading. The story of man who had been fighting for sovereignty of his native country but was betrayed and killed by his the very best friend( I recommend it to those who hasn't read it or The God Father yet))
